Central Beds Impact Mental Health Peer Support Annual Report

On the weekly Zoom Meeting I asked about how to make our Annual Report available on the MHFE site.

Whilst I am looking at a means to produce a fully accessible pdf version I thought I would share a link here to see whether the National Pilot Comminity feel its worthwhile sharing or if it is too long / boring.

We are intending to use it a briefing tool for customers, press and partners, so it is written assuming the reader has no prior knowledge of the National Pilot.

I would welcome any comments feedback or ideas for improvement!

REAL project peer support

A DfE Community Learning | Mental Health Research site 2015-17

Creating peer support groups has proved to be an excellent way to sustain developments locally using the research funding. It resulted in 4 self-supporting groups across Somerset, and 5th group in Taunton, which empowered individuals to meet on a regular basis to support each others' recovery.

Portsmoth Navigate Project (Update)

Well it's that time of year again so with that in mind I thought it would be a good time to give you all a quick update as to our progress. We certainly have been busy. We recently had a really successful Information Day Which was attended by a number of our peer navigator volunteers, along with representatives from the Roberts centre who have range of services offering support and assistance to people with mental health issues.

Happy at Work?

Two fifths of employers have reported that they are seeing an increase in cases of anxiety and depression from their staff.

Postcard from Portsmouth pilot project

We put a course together as a result of a similar thing to the "Pop-up" cafe that I saw on one of the other blogs where we organised 2 days of 1:1's with an emplyment partner who referred their ESA clients. We also consulted learners about the sort of things they were interested in.

Equal Partners?

‘Equality’ is an interesting term and it means different things to different people. It is often used in the ‘Equality and Diversity’ context. In which case, equality is not about treating everyone the same, but about putting people in a position where they have the same opportunities. However, a quick search of the word in a dictionary suggests ‘a state of being equal’ and uses language such as fairness, equitability, uniformity and even-handedness. I have been reflecting about what equality means for partnership working.
