    Shine with us - awards for Adult Learners' Week 2014 now open

    Stories of remarkable people and organisations, who have used learning to transform their lives and the lives of others, are invited to be part of the country’s largest festival and celebration of learning. Nominations for NIACE’s Adult Learners’ Week Awards are open now for projects, providers, employers and individuals.

    Dear colleagues,

    We are contacting you about three free dissemination events to highlight the impact of the government’s Community Learning Innovation Fund (CLIF).

    The events will include findings about the impact of informal learning on health and are an opportunity to look at local and national policy as well as to share practice.

    Natspec is being funded by the Education and Training Foundation to continue its work on supporting progression on non-accredited programmes and is now looking to recruit 45 ‘sector leaders’ – practitioners with relevant expertise –to develop the work in their own organisations and regionally.The main focus is on learners with learning difficulties and disabilities, but the approach can be applied to other learners too.

    Best Practice for Engaging with and Supporting Hearing Impaired Learners

    The Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) is delivering a series of Learners with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (LLDD) practitioner workshops scheduled to take place in 2013/2014, which will focus on how to support learners with sensory/learning disabilities including autism and blindness.
