    Would you like the opportunity to be part of a pilot for a new Autism Education Trust course for post-16 education practitioners?

     

    Ambitious about Autism and NIACE are pleased to announce the pilot of a new two day Making Sense of Autism for Practitioners course.

     

    This two day course is running at Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College on June 30th and July 1st. As this is a pilot there is a reduced rate of £100 rather than £190 for the two days training.

    The Future of the Mental Health in FE Network (MHFE) – your chance to contribute

    Through NIACE, the Skills Funding Agency has commissioned an evaluation of the virtual network and of the previous Mental Health Partnership Programme and face-to-face regional events. This evaluation can have a significant impact on the future of the network.

    This exciting low cost event on March 31st is an opportunity to share learning from the first year of Finished at School. Ambitious about Autism in partnership with the Association of Colleges and nasen is leading the DfE sponsored Finished at School programme which is working with schools and colleges to develop and strengthen post-school transition pathways for young people with autism.

    The programme for the day includes:

    - an opportunity  to hear from staff and learners at Weston College about their Grade 1 provision for learners with autism;

    Community Learning outreach projects

    Dear Colleagues

    I have been contacted by Ilkim Erdost, principal of the Volkshochschule Ottakring, a school for adult education in the 16th district of Vienna and a member of the district council. Ilkim is looking to get in touch with outreach adult education programmes in the UK, in particular outreach community based projects in the UK which they would like to visit within the framework of the Erasmus plus Mobility programme for Adult Education Staff: http://www.erasmusplus.org.uk/.

    The Leadership Conversation provides an exciting opportunity for providers from across the Education and Training sector to provide vital feedback on their views on leadership and how leadership skills should be developed. Critically, the outcomes from this project will inform the strategic plans of the Education and Training Foundation for supporting leadership improvement in the sector.

    ...The deluge of learners we are experiencing (130 a week study across all our Mindfulness classes) seem to suggest there is a real need for Mindfulness in the community. Moreover we feel we are only just brushing the surface of the need-potential within the city. Every time we offer our services, this seems to set off an avalanche of other oganisations wanting to learn about our classes.
