Take Ten People (TTP): ten people's stories

Archived resource

Part of the Take Ten People box set - a collection of resources designed to support:

  • An integrated approach to learning and skills
  • Access to opportunities to improve employability skills for people with mental health difficulties
  • Cross sector local partnership working
  • CPD for local partnerships

These ten people's personal stories were the starting point for Take Ten People. Presented as 10 A4 sized cards, they provide diverse stories of the experiences and  employability support needs of adults with mental health difficulties. Each story is accompanied by suggested reading/resources and  a series fo questions to help practitioners think about  the complex interrelationships of people's personal circumstances, recovery, aspirations and previous experiences of learning, skills and employment and how these impact on their employability skills and the opportunities they are able to access in order to improve their skills.

Please note:

The learner stories in this resource are in many ways timeless, but they are also clearly of their time. Following the general election in May 2010 much content on government websites was moved to the National Archive, plus many organisations closed and government policy changed. As a result, the suggested sources of help and information given in the margins in this handout may no longer be available or may no longer be government policy. This resource is in Word format so feel free to update it.
