Shine with us - Adult Learners' Week 2014

Shine with us - awards for Adult Learners' Week 2014 now open

Stories of remarkable people and organisations, who have used learning to transform their lives and the lives of others, are invited to be part of the country’s largest festival and celebration of learning. Nominations for NIACE’s Adult Learners’ Week Awards are open now for projects, providers, employers and individuals.

Adult Learners’ Week is expanding in 2014 to be the biggest and best it has been in its 22 year history. The Week itself, taking place between 14 - 20 June 2014, will be the culmination of weeks of celebration, illustrating how adult learning has a positive and dynamic impact on people, the economy and society.

There are the following national award categories which will be presented during Adult Learners’ Week 2014:

  • Awards will be given to Apprentices and individuals who have learnt as part of an ESF-programme, as well as awards for ESF-funded projects.
  • Awards will also be presented for the three themes of the Week, which cover the Workplace, Life Skills and Family and Community.
  • Awards for the Senior and Young Adult Learners of the Year.
  • A new award for employers, which recognises investment in outstanding training and development for staff, will also be presented.

In addition to these national award categories a similar range of awards will be presented in each of the nine regions across England.

All awards categories are open to learners, employers and projects in England only. The closing date for nominations is 5pm on Thursday 30 January 2014.
