Returned from India

Hi everyone

Just wanted to say that after 8 weeks in India researching mental health recovery I am back and bursting with thoughts and thinking about how and why recovery in mental health occurs - and fundamentally Im wondering if  recovery is possible or do we simply just learn to live with and manage our lives with renewed hope?

I learnt so much while I was away - I had amazing access into the Ayurvedic Mental Research Institute and met HINDU Bhrahmin priets at  a 600 year old healing mana that has been treating psychological problems presented by approx 100 patients every day (many Muslim) ... the priests have amazing success using mantras alone. I interviewed priests,  a bishop, filmed living gods,  went on a pilgrmage and filmed live exorcisms and interviwed both patients and carers. I learnt one very clear thing that BELIEF and TRUST and BEING HEARD are vital as is the HEALTH of the doctor trying to heal.
