LSC Mental Health Strategy: The Way Forward - Implementing the Vision of Learning for Living and Work (October 2006)

This strategy was published by the Learning and Skills Council in March 2009. It was intended to complement and contribute to the cross-government social exclusion agenda and to be a legacy document for the LSC's successor agencies (the Skills Funding Agency, the Young People's Learning Agency and local authorities) to 2015.

Although work had been undertaken to deliver the headline actions in the strategy these had not yet been completed when the strategy ceased.

In practice the  strategy ceased on 31.3.2010, with the LSC. Since that time no subsequent policy for the the further education learning and skills sector has been published to fill the gap left. For this reason the strategy continues to provide a useful guide for learning providers and other sectors of the previous policy aspirations of the sector and the intended direction of travel. However, the document does not have a current status and its contents need to be considered in the context of related policy being created by the coalition government since May 2010.
