Join our next COVID-19 rapid response meeting on 22.5.20

Can you spare an hour at noon on 22.5.20?

Please join us for the 2nd meeting in our time-limited #C19 activities co-producing a pan-FE sector rapid response to concerns about the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on learners' and staff mental health—now and as restrictions ease.

Check out what happened at our first meeting on 1 May 2020.

In the 3 weeks since that meeting:

  • We have sadly seen more people contracting and dying from Covid-19. We know many of you reading this will have been personally affected and offer our sincere condolences.
  • There has been growing evidence of demographic and geographical inequalities which will impact the mental health of different people and their communities, which have clear implications for staff and students all types of FE, skills and lifelong learning provision.
  • The UK government published it's changed coronavirus strategy, messaging and lockdown rules.
  • DfE has issued multiple guidance for learning providers.
  • The Centre for Mental Health published its latest analysis and stark forecast on what Covid-19 is likely to mean for the nation's mental health: Forecasting needs and risks in the UK: May 2020

Why now?

From your presentations and discussions at our first meeting on 1.5.20, we've synthesised a draft framework with 4 action areas for you to consider. If these sound about right to you for now, then it'll be time to get involved in making it happen.

Friday 22 May 2020 from 11.45 (to socialise/sort out any tech problems) for a prompt 12.00-noon start and ending at 13.00 hours (we always hang around for 15 minutes afterwards for any 1:1 questions/conversations). Register now.
