Free Workshops - Supporting the participation of disabled people in learning

Dear MHFE  members

Please see below information about some free workshops that will be held in London, Birmingham and Manchester in April.  The workshops are part of a research project NIACE is involved in. The purpose of the research is to develop guidance to support the participation of disabled people in ESF Priority 2 provision.  This ESF provision  focuses resources on people in the workforce who need support with basic skills and/or who do not have good qualifications, in particular, those who are least likely to receive training. It aims to help people gain relevant skills and qualifications needed for their career progression and for business growth and innovation.

Many thanks

Yola Jacobsen. NIACE Programme Manager

Workshops in London, Birmingham and Manchester

Do you have experience of working with learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities (LLDD), or would you like to learn more about how to engage learner with learning difficulties and/or disabilities?

On behalf of the Skills Funding Agency (SFA), the Institute for Employment Studies (IES) and the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) are hosting three free workshops in London, Birmingham and Manchester aimed at providers who are keen to learn about, and share best practice in supporting LLDD to access ESF Priority 2 provision. Findings from the workshops will inform the development of guidance and good practice, and researchers are particularly keen to include your insights - either as ESF providers, or as providers of more mainstream provision who are experienced in delivering to LLDD.
