Blackpool - Year 1 Well-being report

Well-being Report             April 2016

These are the findings from the first year of Blackpool’s Well-being courses.  After quite slow start the courses picked up quite dramatically from January 2016.  We are now finding that a lot of services are approaching us as they can see the benefits that the learner is experiencing from the adult community learning well-being courses. 

100% of learners stated the information, advice and guidance given prior to the course was either excellent or good

94% stated their experience of enrolment was either excellent or good

89% of learners said the tutor was excellent at explaining what was involved in the session

89% stated a variety of teaching resources were excellent

95% said the tutor was excellent at providing feedback and setting new targets for them to work towards

94% stated the course was either excellent or good

Retention:  85.9%      Pass:  96.6%  Achievement:  83%

77% of learners were from the top 30% most deprived

Learner comments included:

‘I have learnt some points to use in my everyday life to help me’.

‘I have thoroughly enjoyed each session and will take away with me everything I have learnt and experienced’

‘The course was enjoyed and relaxed with a lovely tutor.  Her enthusiasm and positively helped a diverse group of people feel comfortable. ‘

‘I have learnt good breathing techniques to help with stress and anxiety’

74% female

2% ethnic background

35% aged 35-54

23% LLDD
