Adult Learners’ Celebration June 17 in St Helens

The team were really pleased that 50 learners from the project attended the annual ACL adult learners’ celebration (2/3 of participants!). 39 completed our next steps booklet and 4 received an award in recognition of their progress!

English Learner

This learner grew in confidence through the Learn to Grow project and progressed on to achieve a Level 2 English Functional Skills qualification.   She was nominated by her English tutor in recognition of the thorough understanding of Level 2 English that she has achieved, through hard work and commitment.

Dedicated Learner

This learner attended Learn to Grow in 2016.  This year she has been involved in both the Develop and Grow Project- as part of the Singing for All choir – and both the maths and English Functional Skills programme.  Hard work and effort have led to success in all of the courses she has attended.

Mature Learner (50 plus)

At ACL we recognise the benefits of learning at all stages of life. Our next award was presented to a learner who joined us to improve their digital skills and has successfully progressed onto our photography courses through the Learn to Grow project. The award was presented as recognition of the way she has embraced adult learning in all its forms.

Community Learning Champion

The final award of the evening was presented to a learner who started on the Learn to Grow programme, has progressed onto our Develop and Grow classes and hopes to join our TA course in September. They are extremely committed to learning, and are always keen to promote the benefits that learning can bring. This overall award was presented in recognition of her incredible personal progress and the way she supports and inspires others into learning.
