Diversity Today - Sex/Gender Equality: Preparing Learners
Sex/gender equality... Preparing learners for a range of situations
There will always be industries in which you will find an under-represented gender. While it is our duty to be positive, challenge stereotypes and redress these imbalances, we also should not ignore the individual challenges this may present to a given learner any one time. It is an important part of our role to prepare learners for the world of work. So, for example, we should not ignore the possibility a female mechanic in a motor vehicle environment may face situations that a male would not.
What are you doing to support learners face anticipated challenges?
